Assessment and Accreditation of Choirs in the Malankara Orthodox Church

 The Liturgy of the Malankara Orthodox Church in India is the basis of the spiritual life of the Church. His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Paulose II in the Kalpana 178/2013 has  emphasised the need for   

- proper functioning of parish and private choirs under the direct guidance and responsibility of parish priests,
- ensuring good quality in the functioning of the choirs and
- the necessity for assessment and accreditation of Choirs by a properly authorised central institution of the Church.
The Sruti School of Liturgical Music, Orthodox Theological seminary has been authorised by His Holiness the Catholicos and the Holy Episcopal Synod to conduct training and evaluation programmes for choirs and to give Accreditation to choirs which  conform to standards prescribed by the Sruti School for the purpose.
According to the Kalpana of H H Baselios Paulose II (178/2013), Sruti School of Liturgical Music, Orthodox Theological seminary has been authorized  to conduct training and evaluation programmes for choirs and to give Accreditation to choirs which  conform to standards prescribed by the Sruti School.
